1) Even on the lowest volume (of five) the sound is louder than having the baby right next to you.
2) A bright blue LED on both the monitor and the portable unit is completely unnecessary. Even worse, the one you'll have next to you while sleeping flashes while charging which is very annoying.
3) The entire user interface seems designed around telling you whether the battery is/isn't charging but then has no multi-level battery display (like a cell phone) so you have no idea how much charge is left.
4) Worst of all, the portable unit has no proper stand and keeps falling over when the charge cord is plugged in.

This monitor is very easy to use, very reliable, provides great sound and video, and both parts have rechargeable batteries. Highly recommend this product.

Review by Anxious new mom for Safety 1st True View Color Video Baby Monitor, White Rating: Bottom line is it is a video monitor that works well and puts a parents mind at ease. Video quality is great and the audio is GREAT-better than the audio only monitors. Yes the blue light on the PARENT unit blinks when charging but so what. Tape over it if it bothers you that much. The ONLY negative I see is that the battery indicator does not indicate how much juice is left. It starts beeping when almost empty so you have to get it plugged in pretty fast. This wouldn't stop me from buying it again though. I am very happy with my purchase. Glad I went with it over the Summer Infant non-digital model.

My Sony Baby Call monitor was giving me so much static, interference and beeping noises that I had to find something else. I found out my cable company runs on the same 900 mHz frequency as the Sony monitor, so I decided to buy a digital monitor. I also wanted to peace of mind to see my daughter in her crib. What a difference!! The clarity of sound is so clear, and the screen is plenty big to see my daughter. I also like being able to turn the video screen off, but still keep the sound on when I go to sleep. The only negative I can think of, is that the blue light on the part with the camera is pretty bright in the crib, so I just taped a piece of cardboard over it. No problem! This monitor is worth every penny!!!

Review by Gift for Safety 1st True View Color Video Baby Monitor, White Rating: Up until our daughter moved into a toddler bed we used a basic audio monitor. When it was time for the big move we were determined to find a video monitor to help give us a peace of mind with her new freedom! We have been using this monitor for about 2 months and love it! The picture is outstanding and the audio is perfect with no crackles or pops (had that a lot with the basic audio monitor previously used)

Bad things include short battery life after charging and the blue light on the handheld part is a little bright during the night.

Other than those things this monitor was a great buy for the price and quality.
