My baby is measuring 2 weeks bigger?
Question by dancerkdc: My baby is measuring 2 weeks bigger?
I’m 30 weeks pregnant with my first baby. He’s a boy. Since 15 weeks along he has been measuring a week to two weeks bigger. I just had an ultrasound done at 29w 6d and his femur, head, and body were measuring about 32 and 33 weeks. My doctor said its good it’s been consistant, but he still wants to do some “fetal monitoring” when I’m around 32 or 34 weeks. Has anyone else experienced a bigger baby that came out healthy and fine? And what exactly is fetal monitoring?
He weighed in at 3lbs 6 ounces when I was 29w 6d.

He could mean ultrasound, or he could mean a little device they strap to your stomach that measures the heartbeat of the baby and contractions. With that, they generally make you sit in a chair and eat candy so they can monitor the baby’s activity for 30 minutes or an hour or so. Personally, my kids were both on the small size, but my sister in law’s four were all over 10 pounds at birth. They were perfectly fine
My boys would measure 2 wks bigger too from 18 wks up and when i had them at 36 wks they were almost 8 lbs and almost 9 lbs. Overall healthy though. Early ultrasounds confirmed my duedate so they didn’t think my dates were wrong, just big baby.
yes everything would be just the same.
when i was 14 weeks my baby measured at 15 and a half weeks. she is a beautiful 2 and half month old now!
Both my daughters were like this. It is nothing to worry about unless they think you gestational diabetes, which you wouldve found that out at 28 weeks. It means you have a healthy boy. My daughters were born 8 pound 13 ounces and 9 pound 6 ounces.
